How to merge PDF files on your phone without installing an app

By Learning Media Publication · Updated 5 November 2026

Many forms let you upload only one file, but your documents are spread over several PDFs: a mark sheet here, a certificate there, an ID card scanned as a separate file. You can combine them into one PDF on your phone in about a minute, without installing an app.

Before you start

  • Save all the PDFs to your phone, for example in Downloads. Files from WhatsApp are in the WhatsApp Documents folder or can be saved with "Save to Files" (iPhone) or "Save" (Android).
  • If some documents are photos rather than PDFs, convert them first with JPG to PDF.

Merge the files

  1. Open Merge PDF in Chrome, Safari or any modern browser.
  2. Tap Select PDF files and choose all the files. On most phones you can select several at once by long-pressing the first file.
  3. Put them in order. The file at the top becomes the first page. Use the arrows to move a file up or down.
  4. Tap Merge PDF, then Download.
  5. Open the downloaded file and scroll through it to check every page is there and in the right order.

Why this is safe for personal documents

Most "free PDF" websites upload your files to their servers to process them. LMPure merges the files inside your phone's browser, so your Aadhaar card or salary slip never leaves your phone. You can even switch on airplane mode after the page has loaded and it still works.

Common problems

  • The merged file is too big for the form. Run it through Compress PDF after merging. See how to compress a PDF for online forms.
  • A page is sideways. Fix it with Rotate PDF before or after merging.
  • One file is password-protected. Open it, remove the password using the app that created it, and try again.
  • Your phone is slow with very large files. Merge a few files at a time, or use a computer for files with hundreds of pages.
Try it nowMerge PDF runs in your browser. Your files stay on your device.
