How to use the remove background

- Wait a few seconds while the background is removed.
- Choose transparent, white or another colour, then download.
Questions
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The first time you use the tool, your browser downloads a free AI model (about 25 MB) and keeps it. After that, photos are processed on your device only.
What photos work best?
Photos of people: passport photos, selfies and portraits, with the person clearly in front of the background. The model is made for people, so it may not cut out objects or animals well.
Can I make a passport photo with a white background?
Yes. Choose the white background, download the JPG, then open it in our Passport photo maker to crop it and print copies.
It is slow on my phone.
The first run downloads the model, which takes longer on mobile data. Later photos take a few seconds. Very large photos are reduced to 2000 px on the longer side to keep it quick.
