Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a scanned Hindi PDF to text?
Select the scanned PDF or photos of the pages, keep the language as Hindi + English and click Start OCR. The text appears in the editor, ready to copy, edit, or download as a text or Word file.
Is the output Unicode Hindi?
Yes. The text is standard Unicode (Mangal / Noto style), so it works in Word, Google Docs, WhatsApp and websites. To convert Kruti Dev text, use our Kruti Dev to Unicode tool instead.
How accurate is Hindi OCR?
Clear printed pages usually give very good results. Accuracy drops for blurry photos, very small fonts, handwriting and complex layouts like tables. Use Improve scan for faded pages and always proofread important text.
Is my document uploaded?
No. OCR runs inside your browser. The first time, it downloads the Hindi language data (about 10–15 MB), which your browser then keeps.
Which languages are supported?
Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit, Nepali, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu and English.
