Flashcard maker

Turn notes into flashcards, then study them or test yourself with a quiz.

One card per line: the term, then a dash, colon or tab, then the definition.

Your decks are saved in this browser only and never uploaded.

How to use the flashcard maker

  1. Type one card per line: the term, a dash, then the definition. Or load the example to try it.
  2. Select Study to flip through the cards and mark the ones you're still learning.
  3. Select Quiz for a multiple-choice test made from your own cards, then retry the ones you missed.

About this tool

Testing yourself is one of the most effective ways to remember what you study. Write the key terms, formulas, dates or definitions from a chapter, and the quiz builds multiple-choice questions from them automatically, using your other definitions as the wrong answers.

Turn on Show the definition first to practise the other way round. Decks are saved in this browser, so you can build one per subject and come back before the exam. Print them to make paper cards.

Questions

How do I separate the term and definition?

Use a dash with spaces around it, a colon, or a tab. Two columns pasted from a spreadsheet are split by the tab automatically.

How many cards do I need for a quiz?

At least two, but four or more give proper multiple-choice questions with three wrong options.

Can I use my decks on another device?

Decks are saved in this browser only. To move one, copy the card text and paste it on the other device.
